Location

The first, the most hardcore, the run by real surfers, the ISA Affiliated, the original Lahinch Surf School is located at the beach hut on Lahinch promenade.

Find the Lifeguards towers on the beach and walk a further 100m. On the opposite side of the road you will find our well sign-posted beach hut.
This is not to be confused with our postal address. All the action happens at the beach!

The town of Lahinch is located in the mid west of Ireland in County Clare, 2km west of the town of Ennistymon. Lahinch is a seaside tourist town with a lot of charm. Lahinch Surf School is ideally located offering the closest surfing from the towns of Limerick, Ennis and Galway and with good access from Dublin and Shannon.

Directions to Doonbeg Golf Course Beach.

• Drive thru Lahinch. Turning right at the end of the main street. Drive in directions Miltown Malbay or Spanish Point.

• Drive into Miltown Malbay, turn right to drive down the main street, at the end of the main street turn right at the fork in the road in direction kilkee.

• Drive thru Quilty town, (which is 2 or 3 miles south of Miltown Malbay).

•  2 or 3 miles south of Quilty there is a turn right in direction of Kilkee and Doonbeg Golf course, turn right here.

• Follow this road for roughly 3+ miles until you see the entrance to the Doonbeg golf course on the right (there is 3 tall flags here).

• DO NOT Turn into the golf course entrance(by turning right), instead continue driving for 1/2 a mile and take the NEXT TURN RIGHT at a tiny 4 roads crossroad (I think there is a BnB called Golf View BnB just by this junction). After turning right here, drive for 1/2 mile until you get near the white cottage at the foot of the sandhills, which will be straight infront of you when you reach the end of this little road. This is the ‘surfers entrance'.

• NOTE: The golf club don't like people using this little road and if you ask for directions at the golf course gate they may try send you 3 km further south but this isn't the best entrance as you'll have to walk 2km up the beach to meet us! PLEASE park respectfully on one side of the road (rather than on both sides blocking traffic).

Thanks and good luck!
